Pound 4 Pound: Episode 1 —
“4 The City”
A deep look at Beaumont's basketball culture and the historic season that put a city on the map.
June 2026
Pound 4 Pound: Episode 1 — “4 The City” explores the deep-rooted basketball culture of Beaumont while making a bold claim: that Beaumont is the Basketball Capital of Texas, pound for pound.
Through historic rivalries, emotional state championship runs, and nearly 100 years of basketball history, the film examines how a mid-sized Southeast Texas city produced generations of elite athletes, championship programs, and one of the most respected basketball cultures in the state.
United vs. West Brook
Centered around the intense rivalry between Beaumont United High School and West Brook High School, the documentary follows a historic season in which both schools reached the UIL State Championship for the first time in city history.
Featuring interviews with coaches, former players, community leaders, trainers, and basketball legends, 4 The City captures the pride, pressure, and identity basketball has given Beaumont for generations.
More than a sports documentary
More than a sports documentary, the film is a story about legacy, culture, unfinished business, and a city preparing for its next opportunity to witness greatness.
Mont City Network is producing Pound 4 Pound as an original documentary series — beginning with 4 The City as the foundation for a larger conversation about place, pressure, and what Southeast Texas brings to the game.
